Having a few pieces of very old pine laying around in the workshop i thought that i would make a coat rack.
I went online to see if i could buy some rustic looking coat hooks that would go well with the old pine, and the only ones i could find i thought were a bit expensive. So i decided to see if i could make my own. I worked for many years in steel shops as a fabricator welder, have some experience working with metal. I haven’t however done any kind of forge work since being at school, over thirty five years ago, but was up for the challenge.
I had a quick look on online to get some ideas for making a homemade forge, and using my wifes hairdryer and a BBQ i had a small forge in no time at all.
The following photos show the forge, the hooks and the end result…… The Coat Rack.
